If anyone asks you to make 80 carmel apples do yourself a favor. JUST SAY NO. This took all afternoon and then all the next to wrap them! At least next time I'll know what I'm taking on (grin). The kitchen smells great and it's safe to say the Holidays are here!

A Zebra with Muscle!

This is the Jalie 2328 again in the "muscle T" varaition. A special request from DH to wear under his basketball stripes. I need to pin down DS in his long sleve zero ease version that I finshed.

A loss is an improvment when....

The boys did good! Not a win yet but definate improvement and they didn't quit. We lost 36 to 30 in overtime against a team that was expected to walk all over us. We got to see 3 freshman make a difference and mine was one them (/\/\/\/\/\/\/ - jumping up and down like a good football mom). He may not have done anything flashy but he did his job and made the tackles. This was a fun game to watch and even tho they didn't win we didn't leave feeling like half the team quit and the other half got beat up for nothing.

And it's pants...

These are the One Seam Pants from Cutting Line Designs. I wasn't excited about the fabric but figured it would do for a muslin. I will add features after I get the fit right. Being between sizes I opted for the larger medium in the taperd style. These have too much crotch ease and the waist is too high. Not a flattering style on a shortwaisted figure but I had this tunic (a RTW) in my closet and it goes very well over them. IOW they look fine if you can't see them. {{am I the only one who senses a flaw in this logic?}}

This is DS modeling the powerdry T I made him. He has me redrafting to remove the "excess" ease and make it body hugging. He likes this fine as a T shirt but he wants the "underarmor" look. I guess if I had a six pack I'd show it off too! 

Whatta ya mean quit digging??

We tilled up the sod our builder put down and seeded and strawed. It was already too warm when they put it down and it never took good over our hot dry summer. Sophie thought it was great fun and is certain we did it just for her to burrow in! Middle DS is at retreat this weekend and DH and oldest DS are off to see their fav. college team play. I've cranked the tunes and am off to commune with my fabric......if I can keep Sophie from burrowing in it. 

Burda 3128 and wof 5/2005

This is a Burda skirt out of some stretch twill from an EFQ co-op. (It also goes with the KS top) The pattern is a dressier lined skirt with a shaped yoke/waist. I ignored all the lining steps and it came out very much like the no waistband twll RTW out there. The top is from the May WOF issue. I had trouble with the placket (mostly because I hadn't tried one before and Burda's instructions lack a lot) I fixed it with some ribbon and it came out trendy looking.

This is a top from some old quilting stash to see if I could get the FBA right. It goes well with this Liz C. Fabric (from Baer's I think NAYY) that I made capris from. 

Fast Fun Project

This is from a Nancy Zieman book. I had the "suede" in stash and my middle son needed an art box for this grading period. They were recomending one of those soft sided lunch boxes. It came out really cute even tho my zipper was too heavy.

The tall cabinet Has Stash. My Books and magazines are in the bookshelf. Embridery machine hides under the doll under my peg board. The CPU space fits my serger when I'm not using it. You can also see my FW collection on the balcony rail. The view from the hall shows the ironing board and dress dummy. 

Fighting for It...

They did it! Our Freshman boys brought home their first win 19-6 Tuesday nite. Rye had a great defensive game with 9 tackles and was very excited because the varsity defensive coordinator was there and sought him out in the locker room Weds. Morning to talk about next year. He's #35 at the bottom of this tackle! They play again tonight - Tuesday was a reschedule of a rained out game last week.

Winning Weekend

Well it was a winning weekend in SC for our college boy. What a lovely campus Wofford has!

No sewing for me....I got a nasty stomach bug on the drive home. Very sick - I've been thru 3 pregnancies and not been that sick. YUCK. My Burda WOF polo will have to wait another few days as we have football tonight (a makeup from last Thursday that was stormed out) Wednesday nite dinner to cook at church tomorrow and the usual Thursday night game on Thursday! Look for an update on the weekend!

Me in Burda 8511. This was a success! 

Well I finally did it. Ya'll bear with me as this will continue to be a learning process! The sewing nook missed me last nite as I had not one but TWO cars break down.. My van just needs a new battery.....The other - well we knew it had been overheated badly so it was just a backup vehicle. Now it has a blown headgasket....Sigh... Naturally this had to happen on the way home from our Wednesday night Fellowship meal where we help feed approx 300 people and when DH has run a fever for the last 48 hours.

Has anyone seen the newVogue pattern #7608? It's a Sandra Betzina Jeans pattern. It's very aggressive-- just jumped in my basket. I have some corduroy I may demo it in. I also picked up a copy of the Vogue Magazine. It was enjoyable but not enough info to warrant paying for a subscription. Burda & Threads have that budget locked in.

This will have to wait till next week to get pix and more consistent. Tonight I have Freshman son's FB game and tomorrow we leave for SC to see college Freshman son play.
